Problem definition:
Employees feel unwell in highly-structured corporate work environments, which decreases their productivity, resulting in a lost opportunity for revenue for employers.

Solution:
Offseat (previously named walkntalk): A platform for professionals to plan walking meetings, to stay productive and healthy at the same time.

My role:
Design strategist, User researcher, UX/UI designer, Business model designer

Skills:
User interviews | surveys | desk research, ideation and testing workshops | infographics design | prototypes [wireframes and high-fidelity designs] | business model canvas | pitch deck | research report | animation scripting and art direction.
Initial desk research resulting in an ecosystem map of the current employee wellness space:
Conducted desk research on employee wellness, and designed infographic slides to distill data into easy-to-read communications:
Conducted 7 user interviews with NYC employees, who ranged from being Startup Creatives to a Partner Lawyer, to uncover pain points and human needs in the employee wellness space.
Mapped out the user journeys of interviewees to uncover patterns and find hidden meaning and opportunities in their routines.
Uncovered 4 main insights:

1) Flexibility of a workplace environment plays a huge part in enhancing employee wellness.

2) Being able to take multiple breaks during the day contributes to enhanced relationships.

3) Checking in with other colleagues during the day helps maintain a healthy workplace.

4) Employees at highly structured company environments lack the modalities for wellness
and lack motivation to stay productive.
Step 2 (ideation)
How might we trigger flexibility and social connectivity at a highly-structured work environment?
Concept Proposal:
A tool that encourages professionals to step outside the office and take walking meetings during the work day (instead of meeting indoors).

Low-fidelity wireframes
Tested the wireframes with colleagues to collect early feedback on the app's potential for solving wellness through the app's features.
Wireframes round 2
Discovered that there could be a few preferences for walks and thus developed and explored mockups, low-fidelity wireframes:

Named it: walkntalk
Started designing a brand image and an initial visualization of the look & feel of the app:
Created a pitch deck to promote the app, and pitched it at the Parsons Entrepreneurial Lab, for possible startup incubation in 2017.
After receiving the incubation acceptance for one year, I started running workshops on the app's brand, and sought to uncover challenges in the feasibility of the idea and its experience flow.
Rebranded walkntalk to Offseat to look and sound more corporate-friendly, and started creating a web version of the app for usage in an office (much like how a Google calendar is used).
Created a Facebook page: www.facebook.com/offseat
Art directed, scripted, and outsourced an animation that promotes the app, and employee wellness.
