Instructor Decks for Design Research classes focus on key Design Thinking modules and Research Methods
The course focuses on innovation, market research, user research, and design strategy, applied in multiple group and independent projects, which vary in theme, from Fashion & Sustainability to Accessibility and Airport Design, to Urban Interventions for raised awareness.
Students learn how to put user centricity into practice, and how to follow IDEO's Design Thinking framework to iteratively diverge and converge on problem definition, idea development, and design implementation. They apply Discovery Research methods to explore social problems.

Students apply 10+ research methods per project, including: Interviews, Diary Studies, Ecosystem Mapping, Affinity Mapping, Personas, User Journeys, HMW questions, ideation, and prototyping.
They learn how to prototype and test their ideas in scrappy experimental environment that encourages them to think outside the box and test their ideas' limits, engaging others in the process. The methodology itself teaches them how to be agile, flexible, and how to master the methods and processes in order to ethically engage people in the design process, and design for them.
They then produce professional high-quality decks that focus on storytelling, instilling empathy and providing direction to their hypothetical client. Projects cover a large array of topics that vary from Fashion and Sustainability to Rider Safety and Urban Interventions to raise awareness on key issues like Flooding in large cities.
